Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Commissioning Manager (CxM) to support hyperscale data centre projects for a Hyper-Scale Datacenter. This is a direct client-facing role working closely with General Contractors, and end clients on mission-critical data centre builds.

The successful candidate must have proven data centre commissioning experience for this particular end client, with the credibility and confidence to interface directly with Programme Directors and senior stakeholders. Due to the nature of the client and existing relationships, candidate quality and suitability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Client-Facing Site Commissioning Manager on hyperscale data centre projects

  • Manage end-to-end MEP commissioning activities across electrical and mechanical systems

  • Oversee commissioning from L1 through L5, with demonstrable experience completing L4-L5 (IST)

  • Lead and coordinate commissioning activities across GCs, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Direct commissioning trades while maintaining control of programme, cost, and resources.

  • Support the development, review, and execution of SMS, test scripts, and commissioning documentation

  • Manage commissioning teams of up to 6 personnel

  • Maintain a strong understanding of hyperscale mechanical processes, including process piping and increasingly stringent MEP specifications

  • Provide clear reporting and updates to senior leadership

    Required Experience & Skills (Non-Negotiable)

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the construction industry

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Commissioning or Project Manager delivering MEP systems

  • End-to-end commissioning management experience in hyperscale or mission-critical environment.

  • Successfully delivered significant stages of L4-L5 commissioning

  • Full MEP mindset - electrical and mechanical (not discipline-siloed)

  • Strong capability in scheduling, cost control, and resource management

  • Comfortable directing works while remaining commercially and contractually aware

    Working Pattern & Conditions

  • Working Hours: Typically 45 hours per week, with ramp-up periods up to 50 hours

  • Overtime: Flat rate; potential uplift only for sustained excessive hours above 50

  • Rotations: Flexible depending on candidate location and project needs
