Senior Electrical Engineer for Data Centre Project

Our client, a leading engineering company, is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team for an urgent and critical data centre project in Slough, UK. Responsibilities:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Engage Positively: Collaborate effectively with project designers and clients, hosting meetings and workshops to ensure seamless integration and compliance with UK Electrical Regulations.
• Evaluate Technically: Objectively assess electrical design documentation against client, ISO/EN/BS standards, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate & Integrate: Work with designers and specialist sub-contractors to determine and manage system integration requirements.
• Report & Improve: Develop weekly technical engineering progress reports and implement systems to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Procurement Management: Identify, select, and procure long lead items, maintaining a comprehensive LLE Procurement register.
• Technical Validation: Perform and validate cable types/sizes calculations, containment capacity studies, and develop cable matrix schedules and construction work packs.
• Site Assessments: Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for LLE Equipment.
• Use Advanced Tools: Utilize BIM360 / Navis for detailed coordination of multidisciplinary services and highlight solutions for design discrepancies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will showcase:

• In-depth Knowledge: Demonstrable experience with mechanical and electrical DH building services systems, HV/LV Power Distribution, and various integrated systems (Generators, UPS, CBS, PMS, EPMS, BMS, Chillers, HVAC, Utilities, Fire Alarm, Security).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient use of BIM360 / Navis and a solid understanding of Electrical Standards and Systems including Medium and Low Voltage Networks, Electrical Switchgear and Power Distribution, Instrumentation and Control Systems, Life Safety Systems, Security and Access Control, and more.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Effective in identifying and offering solutions to design discrepancies impacting project milestones.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt and respond to changes, communicate commercial implications, and ensure project continuity.
